"True knowledge is not attained by thinking. It is what you are: it is what you become."                   -Sri Aurobindo & The Mother S ri Aurobindo and the Holy Mother gave the concept of Integral Education for the holistic development of the child. The concept of Integral education takes into account the development of the child in all the domains of development. At a stage when the education system is being highly commercialized the existence of such institutions across the country appears as hopes for many. I got this rare opportunity to visit the institute and interact with the stakeholders involved. Located far away from the capital city of Bhubaneswar, Tangi is a must-visit place for all of those who wish to seek out some time for themselves away from the hurly-burly of everyday life. Home to many birds Tangi has also to its credit the presence of many wetlands which has attracted bird watchers from around the globe. Mangalajodi is located in Tangi which is also

LIVING LIFE WITH A PURPOSE

There are times in life when we feel that we are lost....like being trapped in a desert.Everywhere we see we find nothing but only emptiness. This happens as life rolls by.Our inability to take certain decisions, understand ourselves and our inner conflicts disturbs our state of mind.It lingers and we try battling our own negativities each day of our life. It is very essential that we understand the purpose of our existence.Humans are created with limitless possibilities.Often do we fall in danger due to our inner urges, drives and motives. We have to understand that extrinsic motivation can only inspire us.Scaffolding can help us to understand our weakness but unless and until we get into the process of knowing ourselves it works less. I recently watched  a movie which may be most of you have watched. It is Peaceful Warrior. The movie speaks so much about life. One of my friend recommended it to me.The movie is adapted from Way of the Peaceful Warrior. It is about Dan a college student and a

SMILE

I   remember this story of a little girl I listened to as a child. We had this practice where our headmistress at school used to share stories every morning in the assembly. I remember noting down some of them. A little girl once went out with her mama to travel around. She smiled at every person she met on her way. At the end of the day, her mother asked, 'why should you be smiling at every other person? She said, 'Mama today was my best day with you. I met every people only once. The only thing that I can give them is my smile and nothing else. Often in times of strife, we forget to smile. There is this smiling therapy which is psychologically very important. When we smile we don't think about anything else. It is very essential that we smile. Life is definitely not a bed of roses. It can be a  roller coaster ride at times but if we chose to live with grace and dignity then it will be enriching and fulfilling. There are situations in our life which are definately beyond ou

TORAR DESHOR HADHU

I   have grown up listening to stories. I remember asking mama to buy me a Panchatantra book to study during our half-yearly break. I have read several stories like burhi aair xadhu written by Raharaj Laxminath Bezbaruah. There are many benefits to story reading your vocabulary increases. You have a good hold of the sentences that you use when talking. It increases your creativity and your imagination power. Thus it is imperative that we let our small ones develop this habit of listening to stories from a small age. Even today when I visit a school I find out some time to be all by myself to surf through the books. I remember visiting a demonstration multipurpose school where the headmaster shared with us about the benefits of developing the habit of reading. The school has quite a  large collection of good books Paraja,Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I went to the school to interact with the Headmaster and then I ended up lending in this beautiful place. What  I feel is that every school in t
