VARAHA LAKSHMI NARASIMHA TEMPLE

The Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple is located at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Hindu temple on Simhachalam hill is dedicated to Vishnu who is worshipped as Varaha Narasimha. When I visited Vishakhapatnam my first plan in my list of places to visit was this beautiful temple. When my cab took me to through the steps leading to the temple I was left with awe. From high atop I could see Vizag -the city of destiny with its splendid beaches. The beauty of the temple and the places around is breathtaking. Having a deep interest in Indian temple architecture something which I liked the most about the temple is its Gopuram. Gopuram or Gopura refers to a monumental tower at the entrance of the temple. This structure is seen in the temples of Southern India.

  W hen I was a child, once in a year we had buses packed with books of all kinds-short stories, general knowledge, riddles, autobiography, and a lot more-every type of book a bookworm would dream of. There was always a constraint. Papa could somehow manage our admission fees and our traveling fare. When one bus would reach our school I would ask for money from my mother. She never said 'No' yet I dared not ask for more money. In little ways, she had inspired me into doing great things. Whatever little money I had during my afternoon break,  I would run on hearing the school bell ring and surf amidst the books. KONARK SUN TEMPLE

"India's Best Kept Secret" Odisha is the land of fables and myths. This beautiful eastern coastal state of India has one of the oldest sun temples in India. Konark Sun Temple built in the 13th century is dedicated to Sun God Surya. The presiding deity is the Sun God Surya. The main door of the temple is closed. The place is very well maintained by the Archeological Survey of India. Considered to be UNESCO World Heritage Site this 13th-century temple is located in Konark, Odisha. The word Konark is a combination of two Sanskrit words (Kona-corner or angle) and arka (the sun).
